Around 2008, when I first tried to build a website, the process was comparatively difficult — there were no ready-made solutions, templates, or AI. There were paid themes, but if you wanted to create something truly your own, you had to invest serious effort and technical knowledge.
Then came WordPress. It allowed people with almost no experience to build so-called "business card" websites with far less effort — but the process still required choosing a theme, setting up hosting, and attending to a range of details where the real difference lies: design, images, and copy. A large portion of the world's websites are still built on WordPress today, but my expectation is that over time this platform will become less and less popular.

Over the past few years we have witnessed something different. AI tools have made building your own website genuinely accessible to anyone — from idea to working site in a matter of hours, with almost all of those fiddly details already handled by the agent, and at no cost.
This was also the approach I chose when building the latest website I created for a clinic. Once I took control of the domain, I connected it to Cloudflare Pages — a free hosting solution for static websites. AI tools are exceptionally good at generating exactly this kind of site.

The only thing missing was up-to-date photos of the team and the clinic — so we organised a photoshoot, carried out in great spirits, and the results were excellent. It is highly recommended that dental clinics invest in professional photoshoots for their visual assets. And it is crucial that the team is in the right mood during the shoot — the difference always shows. The website was ready the following day. I added the photos, polished the details, and the job was done.
The hosting bill is 0 BGN/year. Hosting static pages on Cloudflare is completely free. By comparison, hosting a WordPress site typically costs around 50+ EUR per year. The only recurring expense is the cost of the domain — the standard $12/year for a .eu address. No other fees.
For $12 a year, the clinic now has a modern, fully owned website.
